PYRAMID LAKE PRESENTS…

NORTHERN NEVADA INDIAN RESERVATION ROLLS OUT ECLECTIC EVENTS.

Pyramid Lake alone is reason enough to visit—it’s the highlight of the only National Scenic Byway entirely within tribal land. But many don’t realize the great events and world-class fishing available at this pristine desert lake, located north of Reno-Sparks. “I don’t know of any event that has celebrated the history of early Las Vegas to this extent,” says Ruth Rauma of Friends of the Fort. Included in the festivities are a Period Costume Contest and Fast Draw Competition, which “may be one of the few Fast Draw Competitions to be held in Las Vegas,” Rauma adds.

Guests will be treated to a timeline of Las Vegas history, and the following groups will participate:

❖ Mountain Men with displays and demonstrations.

❖ Old Spanish Trail Association with displays.

❖ Civil War reenactment groups.

❖ Pioneer groups.

❖ Water Stone Bunch portraying the Cowboy Era of Nevada’s Old West.

❖ Railroad displays representing the Railroad Era in Las Vegas.

Admission is $7; children 5 and younger are free.
