SNA Leadership Wanted: A Few Good Candidates The SNA Nominating Committee currently is in search of a few good candidates eager to follow in the tradition of past SNA leaders by helping to guide the future direction of the Association and influence the future of school meal programs—and the lives of America’s children. Can you identify and recommend potential candidates to run for the national Board of Directors and Nominating Committee regional representative positions, to be elected in Fall 2012? Open Board of Directors positions in this upcoming election include Vice President, Mideast Regional Director, Midwest Regional Director, Southeast Regional Director, West Regional Director, Education Committee Chair, Public Policy & Legislation Committee Chair, Research Committee Chair and Industry Representative. Representatives also are needed for the Nominating Committee from the Northeast, Northwest and Southwest Regions. If you would like to recommend well-qualified state and regional leaders, including yourself, please send an e-mail with the individual’s name and contact information to SNA Executive Assistant Deborah Van Balen at email@example.com. Submissions must be received no later than April 13, 2012. The Nominating Committee will meet in July prior to the Annual National Conference to select the candidate slate for the 2012 Election. NSBW 2012 Top of the Podium Did you add a little extra luster to your school nutrition program earlier this month in celebration of National School Breakfast Week (NSBW)? Well, then take your place at the top of the podium! The 2012 theme, “School Breakfast–Go for Gold,” offered school nutrition professionals a glittering opportunity to shine a spotlight on the importance of school breakfast in helping kids be the best they can be. Whether you introduced new grab ‘n’ go breakfast service at a new site or tied your promotion to activities in line with the HealthierUS School Challenge, don’t forget to pass along the details of your NSBW events to School Nutrition! We’re eager to hear about your gold-winning performance. Send a brief report and high-resolution photos to: School Nutrition, Attn: NSBW Wrap-Up, 120 Waterfront St., Suite 300, National Harbor, MD 20745, or via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. You, your staff and your students might be featured in the pages of the next NSBW review!
