Judge David Folsom (Ret.), a partner in Jackson Walker, L.L.P., was appointed to a three-year term on the Advisory Council to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Folsom is a former Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Joseph Indelicato, Jr., of Houston-based Joseph Indelicato, Jr., P.C., was elected president of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. Todd Hunter, Senfronia Thompson, and John Otto were honored with the Texas Access to Justice Legislative Hero Award by the Texas Access to Justice Commission and Texas Access to Justice Foundation. The award recognizes the legislators’ commitment to improving access to justice in Texas through funding and other support for legal aid programs. Al Ellis, of counsel to Sommerman & Quesada, L.L.P., was selected for induction into the University of Texas at Arlington Military Science Department Hall of Honor in 2013 for his outstanding career achievements. Bill Boyar, founder and former chairman of BoyarMiller, was honored with the first IMPACT Award by the Center for Houston’s Future for his exemplary community service and leadership during the past 15 years. Julius Glickman, former managing partner of Glickman, Carter & Bachynsky, L.L.P., received the Texas Exes Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award, the highest given by the Texas Exes, recognizes annually up to six graduates or former students of the University of Texas at Austin who have distinguished themselves professionally and through service to the university. Chris Hanslik, chairman of Houston law firm BoyarMiller, joined the South Texas College of Law Alumni Association’s Board of Directors for a three-year term. Sofia Androgué, an attorney with Looper Reed & McGraw, P.C., was honored as a Woman of Influence by the National Council of Jewish Women Greater Houston Section. Ann Ryan Robertson, an attorney with Locke Lord, L.L.P., was elected to the American Law Institute, a group of distinguished lawyers, judges, and law professors who work to improve laws through their scholarly work. Elected members undergo an extensive nomination and review process. Judge D’Lisa R. Simmons, of the Social Security Administration Office of Disability Adjudication and Review in Houston, was honored with the Distinguished Service Award by Rotary International. This is her third award from the worldwide community service organization, making her one of only 350 recipients of the “Rotary Triple.” Michael W. Milich, regional manager of the Frost Wealth Advisors Group, joined the South Texas College of Law Board of Directors. Margaret A. Boulware, a partner in Boulware & Valoir in Houston, received the Best in Patents Award from Euromoney Legal Media Group’s inaugural Americas Women in Business Law Awards.
