All the Right Notes Is music (or band/orchestra/chorus) among the most popular classes at your school? Help keep up the fun (and learning) by incorporating some musical elements into cafeteria offerings and activities over the next 30 days, in observation of Music in Our Schools Month. Encourage kids to compose songs about their favorite school meals and give participants a small prize (perhaps music-themed school supplies) as reinforcement. You and your staff can brainstorm some creative music-themed names for menu items, such as Ham and Cheese Harmony or Piano Pancakes. Or give the school band or chorus the spotlight by requesting a performance from those groups during breakfast or lunch. How can you make your cafeteria more melodious in March?
