National Grammar Day A grammar lesson might make students—or you!— groan, but the English language is something to celebrate! And celebrate you shall on March 4, National Grammar Day. The cafeteria is meant to be a break from scholarly learning, but that doesn’t mean that word-based fun can’t happen during breakfast or lunchtime. Adorn your menus or serving lines with some grammar puns, such as “What kind of word should you invite to a fancy tea party?” (The answer, of course, being “A proper noun”) and “Why did the comma break up with the apostrophe?” (Because it was too possessive, naturally). National Grammar Day also reminds us to always proofread menus, newsletters and social media statuses before distributing, lest an overzealous grammar aficionado find an error or two.
