Law professionals kick it up a notch to help those in need. During its National Pro Bono Week kick-off celebration in Austin, the Texas Access to Justice Commission presented awards to attorneys and law firms that prioritize supporting legal aid and pro bono efforts. This year’s Access to Justice Campaign raised more than $1.14 million, with more than 8,300 attorneys individually contributing, and law firm competition winners donated more than $158,000. Pro Bono College members— attorneys who performed at least 75 pro bono hours last year—were also recognized for their service. A week later, the Commission celebrated its Partners in Justice, which raised an additional $105,500 in support of access to justice.
