Appreciation for Co-Pilots and Passengers Alike TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON, and my time as your SNA President is fast coming to an end. My leadership journey with SNA has spanned 12 years or so, and I have enjoyed every opportunity presented to me along the way. My deepest, heartfelt thanks go to the Board of Directors, who are not only talented leaders in their own districts, state agencies and businesses, but also for SNA. They have tackled serious issues, always aiming to make decisions that support our members. They are dedicated and passionate about the work we all do for America’s children. One of my goals was for SNA to be future-focused, looking and moving forward, and I am particularly proud of the work of several task forces on topics ranging from solving the procurement puzzle to engaging young professionals. The folks who served on these groups are amazing. Their work continues, and it will advance our programs and benefit members for years to come. There are not enough superlatives to express how much I value the expertise and professionalism of the SNA staff. Many members do not have contact with them, but believe me when I say they are the very best in the business. Our industry partners have stepped up as well, providing solutions for menus, software and equipment. Did you attend our first Virtual Expo? SNA Patrons did an exceptional job supporting this exciting initiative. National membership is at its highest levels in decades. I thank each of you for believing in SNA’s mission, being engaged in educational opportunities and volunteering to advance our profession. SNA will continue to grow and benefit from strong leaders, such as President-elect Dr. Lynn Harvey and Vice President Gay Anderson. I will miss the almost-daily interaction with CEO Patti Montague and being “in the know,” but I am confident that my time will be filled with other opportunities. I am grateful and fortunate to have a staff in Loudoun County, Va., who have continued our goal of striving for excellence. I hope they are ready for me to be home! I am most looking forward to spending time with my grandson, traveling for adventure and fun plus figuring out what the next chapter will bring. It has been my singular honor to have served you, and I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for this gift.
