Awarded $2.3 million from the National Institutes of Health, NorthShore is participating in an unprecedented nationwide genomic research initiative. The All of Us study will enroll 9,000 patients in five years to help determine what genetic data is most useful in predicting and treating a wide array of diseases. “This is one of the most ambitious research programs and will revolutionize medicine, and in particular genomic medicine,” explained Pablo Gejman, MD, who is leading NorthShore’s efforts. Dr. Gejman also is collaborating with University of Chicago research colleague Habibul Ahsan, MD, MMedSc, in a strategic effort to enroll a patient population in All of Us that reflects the ethnic and racial diversity of the general population. To find out how you can participate at NorthShore, please call (224) 364-7553, or email AllOfUs@NorthShore.org.
